Photography Project: Nature Resurgent
Few things in life are as impressive as a weed that just won’t quit. It’s beaten us, mere people, and the concrete jungle we’ve built to depress ourselves. Without quoting Ian Malcolm, that’s pretty neat. Never neatly pretty. Nature doesn’t have time for that when it’s bursting through cracks, snaking around terraces, waving at us on a sunny day in a parking lot as if to say, “You can’t catch me, I’m faster than you think…”
Photographers - get out there and capture natural elements in an urban setting. We want plants growing from impossible places. Flowers in the dirtiest backdrops. A tree that’s always made you wonder just how it sleeps at night with so much traffic around. Give us contrast, bloom and decay. The weirder, the better. Anything that shouldn’t be growing and surviving where it is. Street animals are great too, if you’re sly enough to snap them.
