I strive to do more art like this, but unfortunately, the pandemic has forced my art to take a more “consumable” approach. I want my livelihood to be creating pieces that embody the emotions we tend to avoid: yearning, bittersweet, fear — because you can’t experience joy, love, or happiness without them. alierecio.com 

This is a triptych, or series of three paintings, that are thematically linked and in which I used the same shade of blue. I spent most of the first half of 2020 in a deep depression while teaching English in South Korea.
