Embark on a photography adventure to intimately explore and document the unique aspects of your city. This project aims to capture the essence, diversity, and hidden treasures that define your environment. Through your lens, you will create a visual narrative that showcases the soul of your city (or local vicinity).

Guidelines:

  • Subject Matter: Through your lens, capture the spirit of your city in a series of striking images. From secret spots to people, architecture and landscapes to history and food, reveal your cityscape's diverse and ever-evolving character. Your photographs should not only highlight its beauty but also tell stories, evoke emotions, and offer fresh perspectives. Take your viewers on a visual journey through your city, making them see it in a way they've never seen before.

  • Storytelling: Each photograph should tell a story or convey a specific emotion. Write brief captions or descriptions to provide context or share your thoughts behind each image.

  • Diverse Perspectives: Explore your city's various neighbourhoods, communities, and cultural elements. Try to represent the city's diversity and its many faces.

  • Lighting and Composition: Pay attention to lighting conditions and composition techniques. Experiment with angles, framing, and lighting to create visually engaging photographs.

  • Local Insight: Incorporate local knowledge and insights into your project. Talk to residents, visit historical sites, and immerse yourself in the local culture to better understand your city.

  • Perspective: Experiment with different angles, lighting, and composition techniques to highlight the uniqueness of your chosen subjects. Don't be afraid to get up close or use abstract approaches to reveal the hidden beauty.

  • Color and Monochrome: You can work in color or black-and-white, depending on what suits the subject matter and your artistic vision.

  • Consistency: Maintain a consistent style and theme throughout your photo series to create a cohesive body of work.

  • Title and Description: Each photo should be accompanied by a title and a brief description that provides context or insight into the subject's significance.

  • Medium: You are free to use digital or film photography, but ensure your final submissions are high-quality and original images.
