First Kiss

My first kiss was supposed to be Grand
I was supposed to kiss him deeply and  passionately
Or sweet and slow
Our hands were supposed to tangle in each others hair
I was supposed to feel the butterflies wash away
In a sea of sparkling firecrackers
I was supposed to stare into his eyes
No longer with pained longing
But with content and fulfillment
We were supposed to grin like the fools we are

But my first kiss was small
Short and Sweet like the girl who gave it to me
She held my face in her hands
As gentle as ever
I've loved her for years
But never did I dream she'd kiss me
Especially not like that
We laughed and we joked
And I felt my heart swell with love for her
The butterflies flew away
And were replaced with her smile
