In this photo series project, we invite photographers to capture the hidden, overlooked, or mundane aspects of daily life that often go unnoticed. The goal is to reveal the extraordinary within the ordinary, shedding light on the beauty and significance of the everyday.
Guidelines:
- Subject Matter: Your photos should focus on the details, moments, or scenes that are typically ignored or taken for granted. It could be something as simple as a ray of sunlight streaming through a window, a reflection in a puddle, the texture of peeling paint on an old wall, or a person engrossed in a seemingly routine task.
- Narrative: Each photograph should tell a story or evoke a feeling. Consider the emotions, memories, or thoughts the subject may evoke in viewers. What does it say about the world we live in?
- Perspective: Experiment with different angles, lighting, and composition techniques to highlight the uniqueness of your chosen subject. Don't be afraid to get up close or use abstract approaches to reveal the hidden beauty.
- Color and Monochrome: You can work in color or black-and-white, depending on what suits the subject matter and your artistic vision.
- Consistency: Maintain a consistent style and theme throughout your photo series to create a cohesive body of work.
- Title and Description: Each photo should be accompanied by a title and a brief description that provides context or insight into the subject's significance.
- Medium: You are free to use digital or film photography, but ensure your final submissions are high-quality and original images.

- The entry fee is $2.
- The Grand Prize is $100.
- Up to 10 Runner-ups will win $10.
- You are required to submit a series of 5 to 10 photographs. Please upload all photos in one submission post.
- We'll feature the winning photos on our homepage, newsletter and socials.
- SMPLE will contact anyone who excites us about future collaboration or paid contributions.
When you upload your images, our system will create a low-resolution image preview to increase upload speed, but don't worry; our judges will have access to the high-resolution file.
