Absence

I feel your love
Echo,
Echo round the room,

I’m in the middle of it all,
Seeping into the floorboards
stepping through the cold walls,
My body wrapped up
In your favorite shawl.

I pass by old curtains,
Dust lit the moon
Rising and floating,
Leading me towards you,

The bones of our home
Crack under my weight
Although your voice roams
I know you're not there
Among your old things my heart’s what you own,
I beg you, come back,
Claim what's yours alone,
Reap the old life we'd together sown,

The echo now does nothing but drone
Its sweet sound has gone
Wherever you've flown.
