Nails

Nails\ Edna Aphek

My leaves held by sea nails

Grow and rot.

At the rim of the sea

In a port city in another land

Once conquered by ancient Greek Gods-

Born.

My trunk still steady, my branches listlessly nailed

Longing for the ancient Hebrew sea to sweep them:

I am not writing a letter

Nor am I am casting a bottle

Clinging to my sea nails,

 Wailing nails, crying nails

Never rusting nails

Imploring-

Keep rowing to my port.
