Most of my digital photographic work is inspired by the gritty, raw, unforgiving quality of film. In this digital age, we are gratified by an instant result; we see our image in a split second after having taken it, and we can re-shoot and adjust accordingly. Imperfections can be easily removed and forgotten.
In shooting with film, I am taught to be patient. To embrace imperfections. This delayed gratification adds to the satisfaction of developing each image. Unedited and untouched, these films capture the genuine moment as it was.
