Waking up to me
I hear my sure heart that has carried me
Through broken tracks
Burning bridges
I feel my tears pouring
From what I thought I see
Waking me
I touch the blankets that coddle me
From the fear of being lonely
I push
So I can be alone
I pull my body up
I’m walking
I’m warm
I’m talking
I’m full
I’m awake
In my body
My body has carried and crushed
I’ve been quiet and dwelling
Dusting and scrolling
Absorbing what I observe
Forgetting what truly matters
I am matter
Inside of me
Matters.
I hear my sure heart that has carried me
Through broken tracks
Burning bridges
I feel my tears pouring
From what I thought I see
Waking me
I touch the blankets that coddle me
From the fear of being lonely
I push
So I can be alone
I pull my body up
I’m walking
I’m warm
I’m talking
I’m full
I’m awake
In my body
My body has carried and crushed
I’ve been quiet and dwelling
Dusting and scrolling
Absorbing what I observe
Forgetting what truly matters
I am matter
Inside of me
Matters.
