This city scape shot of Manchester, the northern powerhouse depicts uncertain times. Manchester is often referred to as the rain city due to it’s frequent rain pours and stormy weather.
The shot does not replicate the literal sense of another of those rainy storms being on the horizon. But, instead it represents the uncertainty that covid-19 has placed on the local economy and livelihood of the deeply cultured city.
And, although there is ‘another’ storm in this uncertainty looming over us (represented by the menacing redness in the sky) it is common knowledge that the Mancunians have been through many a struggle over the years. Developing a strong sense of community through hardship, the Mancunians have a form of ‘grit’ like no other.
Whatever the covid-19 crisis may throw at the city, Manchester has battled through many a storm. Like the rest of them, they will buzz through to better days 🐝 ☔️
