The Revolution Has Been Televised

The revolution has been televised. And re run on +1 for longer than I've been alive.
It's been wrapped around your screens for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, without breaks til you fall asleep.
You hold it in your hands and feed on it in 140 characters slices.
The revolution has been monetised, commoditized and economized.
 USD? GBP? W O K E, my god.
It's all the Youth seem to need.
You see the revolution has been advertised.
And now it's easy to buy your freedom in a reimagined, rebranded recycled packet.
Expertly emblazoned with the freshest of slogans by the Maddest of Men.
And you switch on the tube and all one million stations clammer for your attention because after all: The revolution has been televised.
The resistance has been dramatized, dramatized, dramatized.
In a rebooted, remake of a remade ripoff and nominated for awards and glory not once but a count of 22 every year since my youth.
The violence we see on our screens is not unnatural or a corruption my brothers and sisters, it is our human nature.
And while you look at it, it's looking at you.
The revolution has been vilified but that much always been true.
Commendations in Conformity
And freedom and expression of truth sacrificed to comfort the soft flesh of the youth.
So that the gluttonous beast just swallows without a reason to chew.
The revolution never promised you safe spaces, smiling faces, hidden systems of institutional racists and it sure as hell didn't promise you organic free range food.
But trust your senses brothers and sisters, When have they ever lied to you?
The revolution stayed true. Never ever left, never tried to hide the signs from you.
But who needs signs when siri can guide us through?
The revolution never belonged on BBC 2. The evening news or sky Q.
Yet at home you stay. Watching it decay, in glorius HDR 4K.
The hard, sharp, burning taste of the revolution has been raped, replaced, set straight.
With the smooth drag of a straight cut cigarette and lingering french vanilla after taste.
