Skin

I’d like to live for you
Be your air and
Bloodstream
Keep you on your feet as your back
Grows tired
Sing you sleep
When your eyes won’t shut
But it’s never
Enough, now is it?
There’s always an ache, a
Pain
A spot to be scratched
A fear you can’t quell
And my body grows tired from being
Yours too
Why would anyone live for me, when
Even I can’t bear the burden?
I’d like these words to mean something
More
Than bubbles as they burst
