Red Eye, 29/03

I Should have listened to you when you said you couldn't do it.
Climbing up this mountain (falling on this mountain) .
Your voice rings with every thought and every time my heart bends.
Cages are deadly and they come in every shape and size.
Let the horses run free, there's no need to keep them anymore.
I find you in the evening light after dreams covered in dust left behind by our ancestors have left a small glow, smiling.
The sun bleeds through old curtains and for a moment I think we're in our old house but we're not because there's
      No           'we'              left.
Ugly silence hangs like dead laurels on an old trellis.
I'm so sorry.
I thought I could keep you.
I was wrong.
