In 2020, during pandemic lock down, I started making paper. I learned about making paper in Japan decades ago, and at the beginning of the pandemic I was given a small papermaking kit as a gift. It was the perfect time to hone old skills, and I haven’t stopped since.
I also have been learning about printmaking and trying to print directly onto these sheets of paper I have been making. It has been challenging and frustrating at times, but they are turning out really quite beautiful. I will have a solo exhibition of these prints, opening in March at the Kansas City Artists Coalition in Kansas City, MO.
