London based creator margomool (they/them) has been intent on facilitating inclusive spaces for listeners, particularly gender-non confirming, within their experimental soulful sound. With influences ranging from 4hero to Esther Phillips to traditional Italian folk music, their upcoming project ASPETTA is a wonderfully unique project, journeying from an Estrucan lament to the fire of funk-rock with a sprinkle of breakbeat for good measure.
After independently releasing their debut 2021 EP misconceptions, margomool garnered the attention of listeners across the globe through Jamz Supernova’s and the British council’s Selector Radio programme, as well as audiences at the esteemed Love Supreme Festival 2022.
Now the vocalist and producer is ready to share their next offering. ASPETTA means ‘hold on’ in Italian, margomool’s father tongue. Written in the midst of the COVID pandemic and completed whilst the artist was recovering from extended post-COVID fatigue, the project meditates on the need to find stillness amongst the chaos.

margomool expands on the project: “creating ASPETTA has been an anchor for me during what has been a mad year for everyone. I wanted to express the fury and sadness wrapped up in this momentous period we are collectively experiencing. ASPETTA is a reminder that we move with more intention if we can take time to pause and savour for a minute.”
