Streetlight

In this song, I speak about the experience of black youth in this country living in underserved communities, specifically citing events in my own hometown of Paterson, NJ. This song is an expression of anguish at youth being “abandoned by high society” as well as a call for awareness of issues affecting marginalized communities in the nation. With lyrics strung together over a dark-toned instrumental, it is a powerful and piece of art that I hope will move it’s listeners as much as it moved me to create it.
