Phoenix (333)

Can’t remember the day,
Deleted everything there’s to your name,
Dancing, freed myself from the chains,
Even made the Devil say, “damn, the one who got away”

Never got the closure, per se,
But, it’s time to separate,
Second chances, just scarce these days,
Understand, you ain’t choose me today, so no tomorrow for what was yesterday

New found glory, all this love was self made,
Trick, you really got carried away,
Took on more than you could take,
To the point where you played with fate

Nothing more you could take from me,
Knowing I provoke your insecurities,
Nothing more you could possibly do to me,
Knowing you lack the confidence, the courage to fight on for another day

Now, let’s not exaggerate,
Let’s not front, you had me stuck for about a day,
Lacking the mental clarity,
Trying to mend this broken heart away

Enough about what you did to me,
Let’s move on to better days,
Days of dancing these nights away,
Balancing the scales so I don’t end up in a depressive state

Sorry, shouldn’t have gone for such a low blow there,
But, I know that you’ll be okay,
Cause I know you’ll never confront what I have to say,
I’ll continue to write my heart away, pour my heart through poetry

Here’s to what you sparked in me,
This desire, this sensation, to set you ablaze,
This passion, this feeling, to find the one who can tame this flame,
And don’t bother getting in the way, this is my destiny.
