Unfathomable Love

A hollow sound had bound to his cold, damp ears
A white noise had shuffled to and fro for constant restful years
The days were not loud and the nights were not frightening
For all he heard was the drifting of the waves outside and flashes of the blissful lightning
He wished and longed to see the noises that had kept him comfortable for dawns and dusks
He was ecstatic to soon leave his home that was of great confine
What he did not know was that he would fall in unfathomable love with waves that were sublime
He squinted into the light that he’d never ever seen before
And there it was, his lovely ocean he now needn't long anymore

His new love was harsh and, thus, swept him off his slimy feet
Quite literally so but he did not take this as any defeat
For now, he was gladly one with his lovely main(1)

Though drowning is romantic and idealistic for only the insane

(1) —the open ocean
