I met Harry I Colombia in 2018, he was working in the hostel I was staying in, we got chatting one day and I slowly got to know him more and more through the time I spent in small town near Santa Marta. Until one day I asked to take his portrait and as you can see he said yes...Harry was a little shy in front of the camera at first as he'd never had anyone really ask to take his portrait...
I want to do more portrait's of people but I feel in order to get the best out of someone through a lens, in order to get the feeling of intimacy between the viewer and the subject, or the photographer and someone like Harry, you have to get to know them first. But that's just me, what's everyones thoughts on this?
