Ghost Shoes

I have bad anemia. My hands shake because of a lack of iron almost constantly now, making photography- my hobby for years- a challenge. Taking photographs that were once easy turned into a blurry mess, the subject becoming indistinguishable from the background. Long exposures, especially ones taken at night, became easier for me. The shaking hands were no longer a concern, the images were abstract and open to interpretation. Ghost Shoes is a long exposure captured in DC, one night after a bad break up. There are lights from a passing bus and residual images from people crossing the street. Looking from left to right you can see the fading outline of a person crossing the street, with only the reflection of their shoe remaining.
