Poetry Submission "Firsts"

Inspired by firsts
Yet only concerned with lasts.
I could not possibly recall how, as a child, I felt for the first time grass.

Or how from out of the city I escaped into the countryside.
Unbeknownst to me, my lungs grateful for clean air to respire.

From writer to reader and reader to writer,
I implore you,
Live in the moment, reflect on today
Cherish your every sense as if it were your last day.
