“Wishing, Waiting” is about celebrating the small moments of joy that you can manage to win. It always brings me back to a cross-country tour I did with my best friends in our band Seaons. I wrote the main theme while reminiscing on some of the hilarious events that occurred through that time; And that feeling of cherishing a memory drove through the entire writing process.
The track features Andrew John on vocals, which was a natural decision, as he was on that tour, and is the absolute master of bringing joy out of any moment. He is also has incredibly emotional vocal power.
The Nu-Disco sound of "Wishing, Waiting" explores a melancholy wall of synth and reverberating tones, that slave to an aggressive drum and bass. The track feels somewhere between Porter Robinson and Madeon's "Shelter" and Daft Punk's "Digital Love".
