“Austin’s Piece” || 9 x 12 in || Colored pencil, alcohol marker on Bristol
Poem:
I’m too tired to fall asleep
A feeling too well known
It’s different now though
No longer filled with the thoughts of the lonely
But with sweet thoughts of your eyes
So blue and gray and clear
The color of the most holy, pure water,
that I wish I could swim in forever, even drink
As fear creeps in,
the fear of loss and heartache
I quickly find comfort in the privilege I have had
to witness your warmth, your beauty, your kindness, your genius
Even if it is for just a millisecond.
I love you more
