Christ stop it, just stop it
Stop thinking of her
     in that shift dress
Flowers detailing the real deal
     beneath flowing chiffon
Shades of curves in summer twilight
Extending into legs you’ve known
     to fight gravity

Just stop it
Stop thinking of that one time
     in the park, that smile,
the easy flick of her hair, those two sparkles
some clod decided to call eyes
Eyes? Prized emeralds
Beyond any lapidary’s touch
     except my own
One of many
