Director's Statement: My friend Jon Gutierrez called me a few weeks after we had wrapped on another short film I’d directed, in which he’d been the starring role.
He told me he’d written a script and wanted me to take a look at it and see if I was interested in directing. “Oh cool, when did you start writing this? You hadn’t mentioned it before.” “Today.” Came the reply.
A few conversations and a day later, Jon sends me the final draft, we schedule two shooting days and for two weeks we rush around like headless chickens trying to assemble the rest of our cast and crew.
Such was the strength and simplicity of the script that we were able to assemble some great actors to pitch in on such a rapidly moving project.
Jon and I’s hope for this film is ultimately that people can see in it, a portion of the greatest story ever told. A story of faith, redemption and renewal. Simply, Born Again.
