Whilst living in his hometown of Sunderland in the North East of England, where he briefly attended art school, Marc’s craft for writing and recording colourful and cinematic alternative pop songs would really begin to develop. His string of jobs working in the offices of sheet metalwork factories would bring a sense of realism to his otherwise sometimes surreal musical landscapes.
Moon Puddles is a slow burning ember of bedroom chamber pop, textured with sweet acoustic guitars,
wave-like shuffling drums and melancholy saxophone, which wouldn’t sound out of place on Black Star.
Marc’s poetic lyrics tell an abstract tale of lost love and heartache, and the raw emotions expressed in his emotional vocal performance, paint a watercolour of nostalgia, washed with a glimmer of hope.
This is the first single to be taken from Marc Bird’s self produced second album, due to be released later in 2022.
