Poetry Submission "Second Chances"

Hop off the 141,
Down the street
And around the corner

Old man at the zebra crossing
Empty street, is this guy tripping?
No cars, just us
I should say something
I get closer
I reach him
Nah, I cant be asked!

I cross the road
Down the path
Key in the door
Finally home

Uber eats, Thai Curry
The next morning, hilarity
Safe to say, it made my day
One old man and a zebra crossing

Still no cars
I go to meet him
"Alright mate, do you need something-"

Ghast!
Harrowing screech, drooping cheeks
Eyes and mouth an abyss
Lo! What consumed me whole
A most Demonic, twisted metamorphic
