The city skyline across the
sea flared
as if the water
was ablaze.
We looked,
not that we knew it was a city,
for we had never
seen such frivolity glow and serenade
the night air like so.
Our air
was filled with smog
and
would never be clean,
not even the sharpest of bleaches would relive it
from its state. along with our hands
it was dry also
and made our lungs
wheeze with the
need of
moisture.
