VIAL is an indie rock/punk quartet from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Their first album “Grow Up” was released at the end of 2019 and hit the Twin Cities with a bang, surpassing 250,000 streams in six months. Now, VIAL has been growing in popularity and was named a 2020 band “Poised to Pop” and the “Best New Band” by City Pages. Linked is their #1 top streamed song, “Rough.”

In early January I found myself caught up, completely by accident, in the first “Mouvement Des Gilets Jaunes” of 2019 in Lille, France. Later on, in March, I found myself in another Yellow Jacket protest, this time not-so by accident, in Marseille. Enclosed are some photographs of what I saw over both protests. by Max Curtis
