Life Is What Happens When You’re Busy Making Plans & Covid Comes Along
2020, this was supposed to be my year. Finally, for the first time in my life, I had a plan. I saw my future and it looked glorious. What I didn’t expect, which in hindsight was quite naive, was a pandemic that would change not only my entire life but the lives of everyone on this lovely round planet. Italy at Dawn
This was taken on one of the days I’d spent on Brescia, Italy, where I met my relatives. I had travelled here for the very first time with my family by car, as part of our road trip. We set off to Dover to take the ferry to France, then passed Switzerland (and saw the Swiss Alps on the way!) and Belgium, before reaching Italy. I find road trips much more exciting than going by plane.

Have you ever been in love?
With a man, a city, an eraOf your life in which everything was filteredThrough wine and sunlightAnd obfuscated with ivy? In which everything,Rosied, perhaps, by retrospect,Seemed like celluloid transposedOnto your memory? Are you in love with who you were then? Heat Advisory for Rome and Surrounding Areas (a Poem)
There is a nest of them rotting somewhere under the Colosseum. Resident hornets come out sometimes in the summer, and they are furiousand they are starving.
