Neil Levin’s most recent studio EP is a collection of material he could not fit on any of his upcoming unreleased albums, so he released 5 of the songs early on “Fire Mixtape.” The songs themselves are completely genre less, but borrow from electro-pop, rock and roll, bedroom pop and lofi. Neil is no stranger to strange musical ideas. In 2018 he released 2 full length at home-studio albums, Melonchaholic and Psolar System. Melonchaholic was a seamless, electronic piece of architecture that transcended its bounds and as an independent album, developed a cult following. Psolar System was a 60s and 70s inspired Psychedelic rock masterpiece that truly sounds like it came from an alternate reality set in the counterculture era. The dramatic contrast between these two albums set up his next project perfectly, which seemingly, is a blend of his trademark electro pop production and rock and roll background. Neil has since announced new music with 3 genre crossing albums supposedly
finished, and with only his hands on the nuclear launch codes, no one knows when he will decide to make them available to the public. Until then, check out his latest EP “Fire Mixtape” on all streaming platforms and don’t be fooled by his meme worthy, but purposeful name choice.
