In 2011 for my final year at uni, where I studied fine art photography, I decided to document a sex swingers site for my final project.
I paid and joined a site, I had upfront in my bio my reasons for being there. Purely educational purposes where I wanted to document sexuality and gender on the site, and build a journal with portraiture pieces to go along side it.
I was pretty naive, had had a few sexual partners, but you know I was pretty average. So really this project, although fascinating to me, was rather outside my comfort zone, and I could have never predicted how it would all turn out, and how involved and deep I would end up going.
Here is my profile bio. My name is Sophie, I’m a 3rd year fine art photography student, doing my final year project on Gender and Sexuality. I am hoping to meet subjects via here. I offer the chance for you to tell me your views and opinion and to have your photogrpah taken. I hand print all my work and will of course give you a copy if you participate. I myself am straight but have always been fascinated on the subject of gender and sexuality. So that’s my profile, I was a pretty innocent 22 year old and had no idea what I was getting myself into and had no idea just how much this project would change my life. I will be posting a new post every week with a diary entry and pictures/emails etc. They will be graphic. Expect sexual language, nudes, self portraits as I get more comfortable with the site.
