The Girls Bathroom

Is covered in Glitter
That saturates these walls in dim, sparkling light
Showing thousands of us- the same
thick rhythmic thud
On the calcified clavicle - this
Stone room here to stay
And we- beating
Flesh between- spinning
The heat of the voice,
The thing living between
Tooth and tongue
This fleshy fish seizing
Around where it clutches our heart and
This vapid atmosphere- writhing
Against us as we shine- spinning
And laughing like we're singing

In my desperate dream, Adam chokes on his apple. Dies.

Were in a bubble you blew,
So we claim we never knew
This is all to protect our delicate yearning
But not now. Now-
This precious spinning moment- glaring
gifts given by God: us.

God gave girls and to girls,
        He gives Glitter.

Here, in the heart of a club, Tuesday night
All we can do is have.

In the girls bathroom,
We hug each other and cry.
