Noughts & Crosses 3rd album: Songs of phase

Noughts & Crosses are the studio based duo Jim Meaton and Woody

Woodward located on the Wiltshire / Somerset border of the UK.

Their music is centred on the Improvisation of themes and sounds that grab them in the moment. When a given session has the right vibe they might then embellish it with further instrumentation - or not as is the case fairly often.

Their musical backgrounds are very similar despite a 25 year age gap between them.

Their experimental music embraces many styles and influences from all over the world but with no two tracks alike. For some Noughts & Crosses might be a challenging listen if it were not for Jims melodic and lyrical guitar playing usually weaving everything together.

Collaborating with them on their last two albums art is Woody's daughter and freelance illustrator Isabelle Woodward. For Songs of Phase she was inspired by the more vaporwave, dreamy and digital sounds in the album and created a mini gallery of each track on the covers in the style of a computer screens tabs and a fun track list/credits page.

Isabelle has been animating each 'tab' and is working on creating an animated AR surprise to go with some physical merch in the near future.
