"Vulnerable"
23.04.2019
by Mari Makarov

Just me and the birds under the sky
let me be here and stay for a while,
lie under the light of sparkling eyes,
blend one with the nature like a disguise.

Swirl the brush through the palette of the mind
have a look around at what you can find,
take a deep breath and dive into my mind,
I can be vulnerable if you are kind.

"Wouldn't it be easier"

by Mari Makarov

Wouldn't it be easier
to drown your sorrows
in a pool of your tears
knowing that by tomorrow
you'd be left as a sound that no one hears.

Wouldn't it be easier
to put a mask on your subconscious mind
fooling from what it has to hide
to answer more than just okay
about the way you feel
when a friend asks you
if you've healed.

All I know is
I'm full of wounds
And I'm still standing on my feet
covered in my pain
with a smile when I greet.

Because I am not what happened to me,
I am what I choose to become.

"Silence"
08.10.2017
by Mari Makarov

I like to observe people,
how they carry themselves when no one is looking,
how they bite their lips when they become anxious,
how their eyes lit up when they talk about their passion
or how they glance at their reflection as they walk by a glass building.

I like to observe people,
how they speak more with their actions
but somehow I can't read yours
you remain quiet in every way
So I sit next to you
to accompany your silence.
