It’s My Life

No life like there’s no tomorrow,
I can only do my best,
Only thing worse than drowning in my sorrow,
Is falling behind with the rest.

A world of gloomy weather and dead flowers,
Is the world that I’ve grown to love and know,
A world where words have no power,
But my actions are what move the show.

I was taught since birth that I’m of no worth,
And I was not going to live past 21,
For over 30 years now I roam this earth,
And I’m as much alive as you or anyone

My life is mine and nobody can claim it,
Part of me will die today but tomorrow, I will wake up and say I made it
