you were six feet from me but so far away
I needed a safe bed so badly
I needed you to tell me you loved me
that it was gonna be okay
I needed someone to tell me
tell me I'm safe
it's going to be okay
I'm here for you
I always will be
you were six feet from me but so far away
I knocked on your door
I called your name
I knocked on your door
I called your name
I knocked on your door
I knocked on your door
I knocked on your door
it's going to be okay
I needed a safe bed so badly
I woke up on the floor
it's going to be okay
I stayed there
I needed you to hold me
I saw you so little under daily
I needed you to hold me
I needed you to tell me
but you were never really there
I had a pink bicycle that I wanted to paint black
it became a project we could do together
and we worked hard scraping the pink back - to paint it the right way
at first, but again came distance
the bike was scraped and tattered and we left it that way
I wanted you to come outside with me
I wanted you to help me paint
when I asked, you told me what I really wanted was to make up for lost days
and that those days are gone
and I can't have them back
