Deer Priest

Acrylic on paper board,  83.5x59cm

‘Deer Priest’ painting is a pair with ‘Evil creates evil’
I never actually introduced this painting nor shown good quality photo of it, so there it is.
On this painting you can see hybrid with a human’s body and deer’s head.
Deer is a graceful and beautiful creature, looks rather gentle and is highly sensitive, in biblical symbology represents piety and devotion.
This painting is juxtaposition of good and evil, just like ‘Evil creates evil’ warns you, that not every evil is visible at first.
Deer is painted as calm as you could see in his natural surroundings. What’s satirical here is that deer has a human body and is a priest. Calm and sensitive deer has an empty eyes and upside down cross on his forehead.
Colours are vivid, purple deer greatly contrasting with yellow background. Colours complement each other. In both paintings background is painted with lines of different tones of the same colour, giving away a feeling of energy pumping out of the figures.
