Fear of Falling Asleep

“Fear of Falling Asleep” is a self portrait that reflects how my PTSD makes me terrified of what awaits me when I close my eyes. Honestly, though, I found that my PTSD-induced nightmares are creative in a sense. They represent how my brain abstractly imagines my past. So, art is my means of taking ownership of that creativity. I can depict my pain in the present and make peace with it.
