Stargaze

I reminisce our bond bound ‘tween our hearts so strongly shown, unspoken
Tightly woven in tangled embraces ‘til by tomorrow we had awoken

I oft’ recall my eyes in many a sorrowed dream set ere that grievous morning
For grieved suggestions they hadn’t yet bore, though the break of dawn sent me mourning

So deeply we did love; reflecting from your ocean depths in seaside starlight
Our love knew no time and our bond found no border, yet after all our story was finite

I had not known truly the sight of death until I had witnessed those stars vacate your iris
But now in the intensity of your absence at night I turn to the heav’ns and find bliss

For you shelter me each night in a blanket of stellar celestial blaze
So I erect my hand to be held by your skies
ever so gently in the solace of a stargaze
