i wanted to love you like a cold summers’ eve
after days of intense heat
like ice cream cones on your bestfriends porch
and quests through neighborhood kingdoms
let us cheers to the revolution
we sure knew how to over...
throw a party
remember the serpents that slithered through snake valley
shedding rumors like dead skin
we became great charmers then
magically masking mistakes made by miserable mentees
not creative enough to see the vision
i wish i could go back to summer
when dusk held june like a priceless artifact
wrapped in the newspaper we wrote our dreams on
july became our starry night
carefully canvasing the lines i never wanted to cross with you
i did however connect the dots
and they always led me back home
