Clean Room Clean Mind

I finally cleaned my room today.
Instead of hiding or rearranging the mess.
I tackled the clutter of chaotic and harmful thoughts.
And swept away negativity.
I threw out the pile of insecurities stacked up in the corner.
And mopped up the lie that I wasn’t good enough.

I finally showered today.
No longer masking the smell of depression but being free of it.
Burdens lifted as I watched doubt, fear, confusion and sadness wash down the drain.
Replaced with the sweet fragrance of hope, peace, clarity and joy.

I finally stepped outside today.
In daylight too.
I didn’t wait for the sun the set so I could hide in the darkness.
No, I embraced the light.
I embrace my light.
