Beach House is a rare and incredible formation of dream pop. From it's engaging electric keys and the entrancing guitar, Beach House delivers not just music - but an experience. It is original, and something we are sadly seeing less of in modern-day music. Their lyrics are meaningful and expressive of almost any feeling. The music they put out tells a story, either in each album or a singular song. It reminds the listener of childhood: days when you could enjoy life without worry or stress. In some moments it even feels like their music is reminiscent of how you can be so close to adulthood, yet hang on to the last moments of youth. What is incredible about Beach House is the journey - where the albums take you. You can feel the euphoria and elation of an album like "Bloom", yet still enjoy the sentimental feeling brought by "Devotion" or "Depression Cherry". Then there is an album like "7", which completes this dream-like fantasy they offer. Their songs can cause any listener to suddenly feel encompassed in neon lights, and forget the present moment. Having been around since 2006, you'd expect their audience to be a larger population. So the question is, why are they not mainstream? Some may prefer the band to not be publicized, but the recognition in talent should be admired.
