Been watching my step
Been balanced on the edge of the sidewalk so long I didn't realise when the sky turned grey
Flowers stayed in my left hand
Can't wait to put them in the empty bottle of wine in my room.
But all of this is me buying time
I don't wanna go back inside
Cos I know what's waiting for me when I get back
And I don't want that
So I'll turn around
Walk back
Balance on the edge of the sidewalk
Take my time
Kick rocks
Have the neighbors think I'm lost
But that's fine
Anything that's gonna buy me time
Anything short of dying
Anything that'll buy me time
I made plans just yesterday
I swear I'm gonna be late
They're just gonna have to wait
Stare at the door until I don't arrive
Shards of glass stuck in my shoes
But what am I to do
I left the door open and I'm gonna have to lock it
