ARTIST STATEMENT

My vision of an ideal future world is having every disease and illness completely and totally cured, for everyone.  The way I see it, is that once we achieve a global cure to all current and future medical conditions for humanity, we can become unified as a fully prosperous society.  We can then employ all technologies to reverse engineer our planet, reduce total pollution, and restore our Mother Earth to a pre-industrialized era where flora and fauna are completely restored.  Imagine what it would be like to coexist in a world where healthcare is irrelevant, and entire species of animals no longer face unnatural extinction.  Marvel in the prospect, of a world that has been cured of all ailments.  No more hospital visits.  No more back and forth with insurance companies.  No more sick days needed.  No more chemo therapy.  No more unhealthy organs.  No more high mortality.  No mortality at all.  

For FUTURE X, I wanted to show what such a not so distant future might look like through the lens of time.  100 years into our own future, what would we think of this decade?  Today, we are giddy with excitement for a possible cure to Type One Diabetes (my own disease), and a total and complete cancer cure.  We are in the middle of the deadliest global pandemic we have ever known, with therapeutics on the horizon.  What if this was the catalyst that finally led to the development of global cures for our entire planet?  Would our great grandchildren look back at this time in our troubled history and view it as commonplace antiquity, like looking at an old dirty magazine?  

What a happy thought it is to think a world can exist with no hurt.
