I took these pictures after stumbling across an abandoned summerhouse in the neighbourhood on a late summer evening by the north coast of Denmark. I had walked the dog around that area many times before but hadn't noticed the house, as the thick shrubbery very nicely engulfed it out of view from the road and blended it into the small forest behind it. While tip-toeing around I found that the house itself has been perfectly preserved for decades- the cooking oil on the counter, the dishes by the sink, a pair of sunglasses on the dining table, there was something eerie about the lives of the owners being so abruptly interrupted without warning for them to do anything about it. The surrounding nature had slowly reclaimed it, weaving its way around the memories and atmosphere of this little Danish time capsule.
