this series, titled SIGHTINGS, is a collection of self portraits that utilise the aesthetics of cryptozoology - the study of folkloric creatures - to question the notion of selfhood. The ‘true self’ as a concept is often treated as something that must be searched for and found, much like a creature of folklore like bigfoot or the loch ness monster. By shooting myself as the subject in this style, I am satirising the idea of finding oneself.
