This piece was an abstracted outcome that incorporated the concept of layering, as it explores both physical and personal journeys, with a take on contemporary collaging. The work is comprised through layers of oil paint, photographic images, receipts and flyers, found objects and marks that all reflect a journey. The journey is a combination of both short term, to a certain destination visited or time period, and long term, the journey of life and cultural factors that make your identity. These elements are combined through layers in the painting to capture an ultimate image that presents a final composition of a journey.
