My heart is sinking, down through my chest,
and all I want is an eternal rest.
To be enveloped by a bed of flowers,
as I sleep unbothered by the passing hours.
My sorrows buried deep by the heavy dirt,
as I forget all of my toils and hurt.
To be at peace,
and free of pain,
secure a new lease
in earth’s shelter from the rain.
How nice it would be, to lie softly,
in a bed of carnations, made just for me.
To say goodbye to the clouds
waving in the lilac sky,
as I sink slowly down,
and gently die.
