The shape of trees


Trees, like people, come in all shapes and sizes, each one another expression of life’s variety and of the way we’re all different but similar, too. I found this tree yesterday afternoon on a hike along the Manatee River following a route that DeSoto supposedly took centuries ago when the shoreline was nearly impenetrable because of trees like this one and the nearby thickets of mangroves growing along the bank.
